SPORT BILD: Mr. Räikkönen, when did you last pee in your garden?  I don’t know the exact day, but it wasn’t long ago.  You revealed in your biography that you like to pee in the garden. As a retiree, will you be doing that more often again?  Sure, it’s normal for me. When I was a kid, we didn’t have a toilet in my parents’ house. Where else would you pee? Of course I’ll continue to do it. I have no problem with it. If I have to, I have to.  With 350 races under your belt, you’re the record holder in Formula 1. How much will you miss the pinnacle of racing?  Only time will tell. What I already know is that driving is the only thing I liked about it! I may never set foot in the paddock again. Formula 1 was never my life. There were always things that were more important to me. Nothing will change that. I didn’t quit because I lack the energy, but because I have better things to do than sit in airplanes and stay in hotels.  Do you already have plans for your r...

Kimi Räikkönen about quarantine days, his Lada and his only victory in Hungary Currently, the children and his training are filling Kimi Räikkönen’s everyday life, but in the meantime, the Finn is also fully prepared for the start of the F1 season: if it starts in July, he will be ready, but if it doesn’t, it’s still fine for him. Räikkönen gave an exclusive interview to F1Világ.hu !  Interview from 26th May 2020  During the forced rest period, Räikkönen and his wife, Minttu, also frequently post on Instagram so fans can keep track of how this non-competitive period is going for them.  The family is not bored at all, Räikkönen himself confirmed this: they go karting, they jump trampoline, but they often go on trips, in fact, the Finn even gives his daughter ballet lessons.  “We are fine, we enjoy the time we spend together – this is something we did not expect to such an extent before the start of the season,” Räikkönen told F1Világ.hu. “But st...

Kimi Räikkönen: "Se eu não continuar gostando de pilotar este ano, eu me aposentarei"

Kimi Räikkönen: “If I don’t keep enjoying racing this year, I’ll retire” One on one with the last Ferrari champion in Formula 1. His way of being, which colleagues he would invite to a party and why he’s still around at 40.  Far from the young man who had some excesses and even admitted in his biography that he had problems with alcohol that he managed to overcome, today Kimi-Matias Räikkönen enjoys his family life with his wife and two children (the boy, Robin, has already started go-karting). He is one of the Formula 1 drivers who has the best time during this break because of the coronavirus pandemic. He looks relaxed and very happy on social media, tools that he started using a couple of years ago. Before starting the action that will return on July 5th with the Austrian Grand Prix, the current Alfa Romeo driver and last champion with Ferrari accepted to talk to Infobae . He made an exception because he does not usually give interviews.  Iceman, as the Finn ...

From wild man to family man: Kimi Raikkonen on life as a racing dad

From wild man to family man: Kimi Raikkonen on life as a racing dad Over the course 16 days in 2012, Kimi Raikkonen found himself in a swimming pool fully clothed, drinking with mates from dawn til dusk, twisting his ankle while trying to imitate football legend Maradona and subsequently missing a test with Lotus who he was driving for at the time. This was perhaps one of his longer and more unruly stretches of such impulsiveness, but it was a lifestyle that he had long been enjoying. 40-year-old-spec Raikkonen, though, is a very different man. He still loves to sleep. He still loves to have fun with his friends. He still loves to break loose. But such instances are more of a rarity these days. It has become organised fun, slotting in around spending time with his two kids Robin and Rianna, and wife Minttu – and of course his racing commitments. “Life changes automatically when you have kids,” says Raikkonen, whose face instantly lights up, when I mention his family as ...

Nada de tédio - Entrevista com Räikkönen

Räikkönen: “In isolation I never get bored. I don’t think about stopping racing.” The Finn and his days with the family: “Virtual races? I’d rather wait to get back on the real track. Vettel and Giovinazzi two real friends.” Corriere by Daniele Sparisci Kimi Räikkönen has always thought about keeping some distance with the world. Especially towards that part of Formula 1 that never went down well with him: interviews, appearances, press conferences. The days of wild parties are far away, the latest Ferrari world champion is a role model dad. His wife Minttu, little Robin and Rianna who are racing on tricycles, lockdown in the family. In the Finnish woods, on his estate, where he also had a motocross track built. Mud and jumps, he shows no cracks after weeks of isolation. On the contrary, he says he can enjoy the children more and that little has changed since before. At the age of forty he is the oldest driver in F1, the forced stop has interrupted the hunt for the race ...

Na Ferrari, eles não ouviam Kimi

Kimi Räikkönen: “Now I have other things to do than just drinking.” At the age of 40 Kimi Räikkönen dared a new start with the Swiss Alfa Romeo team – he has no regrets. A conversation with someone who prefers not to say anything. That’s how it is with Kimi Räikkönen, the Iceman of Formula 1, who stoically built this image by keeping silent. But now it begins to crumble. Since this season, the almost 40-year-old Finn has been back with the Swiss Sauber team, where he launched his career in 2001. In eight out of twelve races he scored points for the racing team now called Alfa Romeo. Far from the immense pressure from Ferrari, he seems to feel comfortable. The fact that he won’t go into more detail on this afternoon before the Belgian Grand Prix is due to the narrow time window. Räikkönen talks for 10 minutes, then he has to go elsewhere. It is the day on which he causes stir. Reserve driver Marcus Ericsson is in the paddock. Reason: Räikkönen suffered a muscle strain...

Entrevista com o Iceman

Imagem
Life and Style Magazine – July/August 2019 The last great driver  The legendary Finnish “Iceman” and his view on modern motorsport  Kimi Räikkönen, star of the Carrera sponsored Alfa Romeo Racing team, is the latest representative of a lineage of endangered Formula 1 drivers.  It hasn’t been a good weekend for Kimi Räikkönen. The Spanish Grand Prix was the first of this Formula 1 season in which the Finnish driver was outside the top ten positions and therefore, the points. It wasn’t the best news for him or his new team, Alfa Romeo Racing, and we had no idea how it might affect our interview. After all, it’s the Iceman we’re talking about. Arctic eyes, monosyllabic answers and an unalterable expression were the adjectives that preceded him. Expectations had never been the best. But to be honest, that only increased the excitement of being face to face with a legend of his size. With five Formula 1 teams under his belt between 2001 and 2019, from Sauber t...
