“We did all we could today, so we can keep our head high. Our race pace was better than what we showed in the rest of the weekend and we were in the middle of a few interesting battles. We fought for the points and thought we could get them, but in the end we fell a bit short. Now we’ll have a day off, then some testing and the season will finally be over. We learnt a lot from this one and we can use it to improve for next year. It’s impossible to guess where we will be, but we want to come back stronger. We made some steps forward this season but we want more.”

P13, largando lá do final do grid quase foi até razoável. Corrida mais ou menos, mas pelo menos terminamos a prova.

Resumindo o ano, a segunda metade da temporada foi muito ruim para Kimi, só conseguiu pontuar no Brasil. Se os problemas tivessem sido em menor quantidade, quem sabe teríamos conseguido terminar entre os 10 no mundial de pilotos.

E por que falo isto? Porque Kimi ficou em 12º no Mundial, com 43 pontos, apenas 6 a menos do que Lando Norris, o 11º e a 9 de Sergio Perez, que foi o 10º. Se o Iceman tivesse pontuado mais vezes nesta segunda metade, com certeza ele teria chances de terminar entre os 10.

Mas enfim, ficou perto e acho que no final das contas foi uma temporada ok. Que no ano que vem ele possa estar entre os 10 e que a Alfa melhore para dar a ele mais oportunidades de brigar por melhores resultados.
