Mercedes: Too early to discuss new Nico Rosberg contract
Mercedes says it is too early to decide whether Nico Rosberg will stay at the team beyond the end of his current contract in 2016.
Rosberg has been at Mercedes since it returned to Formula One in 2010 and has been Lewis Hamilton's team-mate for the last three years. The two drivers have been warned this year that if any animosity between them spills over into the team, Mercedes will not be afraid to change its driver line-up.
Hamilton signed a new contract with the team this year that will see him stay at the outfit until the end of 2018, but Rosberg will have to wait longer to find out about his future beyond next season.
"The line-up is a great line-up," team boss Toto Wolff told Autosport. "Both of them are a major part of the team and responsible for getting the team to where we are today.
"But it's early days to discuss that [Rosberg's contract]. I want to see how the season pans out. There are areas we want to develop together as a team, and let's see how that goes."
