Media flu

Media flu

Turun Sanomat 11:51

Kimi Räikkönen would had been the most awaited driver on Thursday in Spa. But Kimi called in sick and didn't show up where he surely would had got tougher and tougher questions about his future.

I know Räikkönen so well from a long time, that I know he either replies very honestly to the questions - or then he doesn't reply at all.

I'm sure Kimi made the best decision for himself when staying home for one extra day, instead of landing in the middle of the contract-rumours. On Friday he can't escape reporters anymore.

Some of the media people would still want to believe that Räikkönen's negotiations with Red Bull are ongoing. From what I heard from people close to the team, Helmut Marko worked extra hard to get Dietrich Mateschitz to choose Daniel Ricciardo instead of Kimi Räikkönen.

Since Mateschitz puts 50 million in the second team Toro Rosso and still doesn't promote his own juniors to Red Bull, the whole project would had been at stake unless Ricciardo would had been chosen.

On Thursday it was Ferrari's Fernando Alonso who sweated when being intervewed, he did however twiddle like a genuine politician when talking about the possible hirement of Kimi Räikkönen by emphasizing Felipe Massa's strenghts.

The tv-people from Italy claim that even Luca di Montezemolo would be more than happy to take Räikkönen back, even if he would lose his face after already firing Kimi once.
