Räikkönen would put the Race of Champions back to Canary Islands

Grosjean, Kimi's teammate from last season and his teammate from 2010 Sébastien Ogier will both race in France's national team in ROC (race of champions). 

This year's last car race will be held in Thailand on Rajamangala-stadium in Bangkok. 

The ROC was held in Canary Islands up to year 2003, but after that it has turned into a stadium-genre which changed the event's character substantially. 

Räikkönen has never taken part in ROC although he gets invitations every year. 

Wouldn't a race with so many different vehicles be tailormade for a driver as competitive as Räikkönen? 

– I just don't have the energy to go there. They have often asked me. During the first years of my F1-career I wanted to participate very much but I never got permission from McLaren, Räikkönen said. 

– If the race would still be like it used to be on Canary Islands where they raced on gravel and tarmac with rally cars and other cars, then I would participate immediately. 

– Nowadays they have a Mickey Mouse -show on the stadiums and nothing there is what it used to be. I have suggested to the organizers that they should change the format of the race back to what it used to be, if that would happen then I would be interested in participating, Kimi says. 

After Canary Islands the race has been held in Paris, London, Bejing and Düsseldorf. 

Ogier won last year's competition. Other F1-drivers that take part in the race in addition to Grosjean are Michael Schumacher, Sebastien Vettel and David Coulthard. 

Teammate is still an open issue 

Räikkönen's teammate next season has still not been confirmed. Grosjean scored points to Lotus only in ten races and crashed so often, that the plans about him being a model in FIA:s traffic safety campaign had to be buried. 

Lotus-team's goal is to be 3rd in WCC-standing next season. In order to achieve that they need two drivers who score points evenly and surely. 

Candidates are so far Grosjean, Kamui Kobayashi and Heikki Kovalainen. They are predicting that the choice will be made between Grosjean and Kobayashi. 

Räikkönen hasn't worried over who his teammate will be. 

– No matter who it is it's not going to take anything from me. I only concentrate on my own doings in my own car, just like I have always done, Räikkönen said.

Para encerrar, a decisão sobre o companheiro dele em 2013 deve ficar entre Grosjean e Kobayashi. Minha opinião é que se a Lotus fechar um patrocínio que está sendo cogitado com a Honeywell (grande multinacional norte-americana - descubram aqui) acho que GroGro roda e entra Kobayashi. Caso não consigam o patrocínio, aí vão ter que engolir o GroGro porque ele tem traz o dinheiro da Total.
