Deep Throat and the secrets of the market
Deep
Throat came to lunch with me and told me what according to him is going on behind the scenes of the driver market.
Here is his version of events. How true it is, that's for you to evaluate.
"In Ferrari they are very annoyed by Webber's interview after the renewal of his contract with Red Bull. It was an elegant gesture, indeed. Why did the Australian have to tell the media that he had received a proposal from Maranello? Some things will not do. At least not among gentlemen ... "
"Webber wanted to go to Italy, but he found himself in a strange situation. He knows that Vettel will be in a Ferrari at some point! He also knows that this could be the last season for him to win the title. Had he said yes to Domenicali, then Red Bull would immediately had withdrawn, ie, they would not had helped him in chasing the title. Why help him if he was going to Maranello?"
"Now Domenicali is a bit stuck. He doesn't have faith in Perez or in di Bianchi. He isn't thrilled by Di Resta. He would like to get Button, but Jenson should break a three-year -deal with McLaren. The same goes for Rosberg, who was stupid enough to sign a long-time commitment with Mercedes. Domenicali risks to have Massa for a further twelve months. You can imagine with what excitement."
"Schumacher has decided to continue for at least another year. But there is a problem. He has a very high salary, only Alonso has a higher salary. But Mercedes has problems with shareholders; justifying three years in F1 with only one victory is a difficult thing! Mercedes has told Schumi: "ok, you can continue, but you have to accept a drastic reduction in salary. Michael has so far refused ... "
"But does Schumi have any alternatives except for testing? No he hasn't. What choice does Mercedes have? None, unless they really believe that Hamilton is willing to leave McLaren. But should Hamilton go to Mercedes, which has won one race in three years? What would his choice be? Hamilton is also very expensive and if Mercedes is no longer able or willing to pay the wages to Schumi, how could they hire Lewis?"
"Whitmarsh is quiet. McLaren did not like certain statements from Hamilton, the fact that he has openly offered himself to Red Bull. But Hamilton paths aren't open for long, unless he takes a bet and goes to Lotus, which is growing well and which also has some liquidity. If Hamilton goes to Lotus, then Räikkönen goes back to McLaren immediately."

#etenhodito

Mas enfim, let's wait and see...rsrsrs
