Loeb: I don’t want to end up like Schumi
Seven times World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb has declared that when he retires from the sport it will be for good and will not be tempted to make a comeback like Michael Schumacher has done.
Quoted by AS.com, on the eve of Rally Germany, Loeb said: “If I say goodbye to WRC it will be forever. I do not want what has happened Schumacher. I want to avoid retiring from rallying then to return some years later as has happened to him.”
Loeb, dispelling talk of retirement, added, “In my heart, I still want to race, I’m still competitive and it shows because I am fighting for the title.”
After rallying Loeb admits he would like to continue racing, “Le Mans is something I would repeat and I like the racing circuit. I need the adrenaline of the competition and I can not get at home. But I also want to spend more time with my family. It’s a difficult dilemma that I hope to resolve.”
